Bollywood Movies released in 2014

Here is a list of some breath taking movies released in 2014

Jai ho
Never underestimate the power of the common man, SRK had grandly told us and his adversaries in Chennai Express last year.

He growls at the film’s halfway point: the aam aadmi is a sleeping tiger; don’t provoke him or else…We might have felt inclined to lend our voices to that cry of jubilation if only the film had a little more to offer by way of common sense.

Jai Ho is a sluggish film with a preponderance of action sequences thrown in at regular intervals. As for debutante Daisy Shah, she merely withers away under the onslaught. Jai Ho is a tale that is about as exciting –as the spiel of a politician going to the polls. Eminently avoidable movie unless you are a die hard Salman Khan fan.

Main Tera Hero
A blend of Salmaan Khan’s cool, Shahid Kapoor’s energy and Govinda’s dance moves, Dhawan redefines the words ‘screen presence’ with his high-voltage performance. The actress, Ileana D’Cruz is not to be left behind as Dhawan’s love interest, shedding the solemn air from her debut Hindi Movie releases (Barfi!) to reveal a more fun side . The second half is primarily where the problem lies. The script dwindles slightly. Too many characters with too many subplots emerge, messing things up for a bit. Not exactly intended for family audiences, Main Tera Hero is a total seeti-maar, paisa vasoolfilm.

2 States
Like most stereotype love stories in India, the boy and the girl in 2 States are from different regions. Ananya Swaminathan (Alia Bhatt) is a Tamilian from Chennai and Krish Malhotra (Arjun Kapoor) is a Punjabi from Delhi. They bump into each other at the IIM Ahmedabad canteen. Still she wants to be friends with this average-looking nerd. Ananya is pretty and soon Krish confesses to her that he can’t be ‘just friends’ and is expecting more from her. So she has an option of forgetting him or to start dating him, and it’s no surprise that she chooses the latter. Two States is a well-packaged product with great posters and promos but the film is disappointing.

Queen
From the point of view of a non-Indian-American, “Queen” seems a modest film to have made such a big splash. It is charming and at times unexpectedly moving, especially in moments of cross-cultural bonding between Rani and the odd assorted group of expats who befriend her, as she wanders somewhat cluelessly around Paris and Amsterdam. It was perhaps “Queen’s” most significant failure that there is not more suspense to Rani’s relationship with Vijay. He is such an obvious self-important, spoiled jerk, and she is so consistently observant,, even with her initial fears, that the outcome is practically preordained. Viewers would have been throwing things at the screen if she had agreed to take him back.

The Xpose
The film revolves around a cop-turned-actor (!) Ravi Kumar, who gets very angry, very quickly. He even shoots a politician point blank in police station, on duty, just because he pisses him off. True story. But there’s more to the film than the motley of characters and a weak story. The styling, for one, is brilliant, and everyone sports slick, ’60s-inspired outfits and hairdos.

Why Hrithik Roshan changed six shoes for Bang Bang song Tu Meri

01tweet1

Latest upcoming movie ‘Bang Bang’ starring Hritik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles is the talk of the town nowadays . The movie is an action packed thriller and is eagerly being awaited by the fans in the audiences . Both Katrina and Hritik share a good bit of chemistry on screen and the genre of action should really bring out the best in the both of them .

The theatrical trailer has already managed to create a buzz among the members of the awaiting sets of fans as it consisted of never seen before stunts and effects . Another fascinating aspect of this upcoming movie is the fact that Hritik Roshan will once again be seen grooving to the tunes of some peppy songs and bringing out his best moves to dazzle his fans yet again . The makers recently launched the teaser of the song ‘Tu Meri’ from Bang Bang , which has got the people going crazy as it comprises of Hritik looking stunning and also dancing to his extreme talents while Katrina’s sexiness adds to the video .

Hritik is seen pulling off some fancy footwork for most part of the song and despite him making it look effortlessly easy , there were some aspects that caused a few problems initially . As rumors said it , Hritik was throwing around super starry tantrums for the shoot of this song and as a result , changed his pair of dancing shoes at least 6-7 times . Everyone soon believed this bit of news as all major A-list stars are said to have their daily dose of tantrums , but fortunately the rumours that were spread were soon rubbished and denied .

The makers of the Hindi movie bang bang and reliable media sources confirmed that Hritik had to keep changing his shoes not for comfort , but for precaution and safety . Since Bang Bang is an action packed movie , Hritik himself volunteered for many stunts and action sequences and in the process , bruised himself a few times . Hence , the makers and Hritik himself did not want to risk Injury during the shoot of this song which required him to do a lot of steps involving incredibly fast feet and body movement . Another reason for Hritik to have such a problem for the right pair of shoes , was the fact that the song was being shot in the morning on the Filmcity sets which had gathered a certain amount of dew making the floor slippery and dangerous . Hence , Hritik tried out each pair and danced with all of them until he finally found the shoes that did not make him slip , risk injury and allowed him to glide with grace .

Dancing is certainly Hritiks forte , and acting is his profession with action being area of expertise . Hence , Bang Bang should live up to its name and Bang in success as it thrives for excellence .

Mary Kom music review

Mary Kom has got a relatively new musical team of composers in Shashi Suman and Shivam, and lyricists Prashant Ingole and Sandeep Singh.

Ziddi Dil has a very haunting melody, which is elevated to another level with Vishal Dadlani’s vocals.

A motivational song about achieving what the heart has to say, this Shashi-Prashant track has an amazing good pitch that keeps the steam on right through its near five long minutes duration.

The hook is just right too. The key words, Dil yeh ziddi hai keep playing in one’s head.
Shivam and Sandeep come together for Sukoon Mila, which starts off in the beginning with a mouth organ. Arijit Singh, easily the hottest and the popular singer around, takes the mike.

This love song has a very beautiful melody. The lyrics are damn poetic and there is such serenity in the song that you want it to repeat. This one certainly deserves a hearing.

The very well experienced Sunidhi Chauhan’s voice in Adhure is just an apt choice for Priyanka Chopra. The way Sunidhi Chauhan sings it, one can visualise the actress in the frame with a montage keeping the play on.

A very strategically well laid out musical piece by Shashi and Prashant, Adhure lends class to Mary Kom. It’s the kind of number that reminds one of the R D Burman-Gulzar set-up of the 1970s.

Mohit Chauhan is heard next in Shashi-Prashant’s Teri Baari. The situation of the song has the central protagonist being inspired to fly away and achieve her goals.

The song has got an ordinary start and though the hook is good, the subsequent portions in the antara don’t have much of originality. Arijit Singh returns with Shashi-Prashant’s Saudebaazi. A simple composition it has a smooth flow and with the minimal use of instruments. Saudebaazi may not be an instant hit, but it fits into the soundtrack and will keep the smiles coming after repeated playing.

Shivam-Sandeep return with Salaam India, composers by Vishal Dadlani and Salim Merchant behind the mike. In the trilogy of very encouraging motivational songs, this one is third after Ziddi Dil and Teri Baari.

It starts off in a rather subdued manner and reaches its up end after 75 seconds. It has a core situational appeal to it, and won’t have much of a life after the run of the film.

The last number is a lori by lead actress Priyanka Chopra, to Shashi-Sandeep’s track. In complete contrast to her all the international numbers she has sung so far, this one has an Indian melody, which focuses on the title of the song, Chaoro.

Priyanka sings really well. She emphasises on the key words with the correct emotion. The song is quite short and wraps up in 150 seconds.

Mary Kom’s music delivers a little more than what had been expected. While one expected genre-centric songs (Ziddi Dil does that job well), the bonus is the love songs Sukoon Mila and Saudebaazi.

Adhure and Chaoro do well too. The songs in the film may not be the instant chartbusters, but as a soundtrack, Mary Kom holds its own.

What made Daawat-e-Ishq different from other love stories

Every bollywood love story promise to be unique , but none of them ever differ . Such is the trait of Indian cinema when it comes to bringing out love and laughter to the members of the audience . Not all romantic comedies are a success , but more often than not , they seem to work their way to the hearts of a few . Movies like Ishaqzaade , which featured Arjun Kapooor and Parineeti Chopra , cane be termed as a different unique love story with twists such as casteism , betrayal and sex being included as intelligent aspects of the movie .

This month of September brings along with it tons of movies that are ready to wow the audience and show what bollywood is all about . Among them , is another fascinating love story titled ‘Daawat-E-Ishq’ , which is a film made by the makers of Ishaqzaade . That’s not the only reason which should bring a wide smile on the fans of romantic cinema , but the fact that the cast of the movie includes stars like Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur is an gratefully accepted bonus . The duo will be saying playing roles completely different from their lifestyle as Parineeti plays the role of a happy go lucky girl from Hyderabad and Aditya pulls off the character of an aashiq from Lucknow . The Daawat e ishq movie revolves around the story of these two realizing what love is all about and how other aspects such as betrayal and society come into the play . The movie on one hands looks vibrant and colourful with peppy songs and catchy dialogues while on the other hand some scenes signify the battling emotions of anger , surprise and unexpected twists .

Another different element of this movie is the music , which incorporates all styles within it . Ranging from tunes of qawali to beats of the disco , Sajid Wajid have not failed to add spice with sweetness to this exciting upcoming movie . Conflicting emotions are seen thoughout the movie with the background being kept as happy and intruiging . Festivity has also been well brought out in the setting of the movie .

Ever since the launch of the trailer , the film has been the talk of the town and praises have been flowing in from all directions .

The movie is directed by Habib Faisal , and features Parineeti and Aditya as previously mentioned . The initial date of the movie was supposed to be 5th September , but change In marketing strategies and enhanced promotional activities resulted in postponement of the dater to 19th September , 2014 . The movie faces competition from other rom coms such as Khoobsurat and Finding Fanny but it certainly appears to have a cutting edge of the Indian Masala needed to make it a super hit and win the battle of September , which does not seem that easy .

Indiawaale’ from Happy new year will be launched on August 31

If bollywood fanatics and SRK lovers wanted the perfect way to end this month of August , they could not have found a better one as Shahrukh Khan and his crew of Happy New Year has made the announcement of launching their highly awaited song ‘Indiawaale’ on 31st August , 2014 .

Happy New Year Reviews

Shahrukh and Deepika will together launch this song on the last day of the month and the build up for it has been immense and exciting . ‘Happy New Year’ is a latest bollywood upcoming film directed by Farah Khan and starring Shahrukh Khan ,Deepika Padukone , Jackie SHroff , Abhishek Bachchan and Sonu Sood in lead roles . The film has already released its trailer which has caused mayhem among the members of the audience and some cannot wait for the date it releases .

Indiawaale is a song from the movie which became famous much before the trailer and everybody in town seemed to be talked about it . While being patriotic and featuring such a star studded cast in It , the song soon came to be predicted to become the number one song and anthem of the year 2014 . The movie is about a group of Indians pulling off a major operation overseas and hence the title of the song ‘Indiawaale’ seemed to fit so accurately . The song stood up to its early expectations as it not only featured , but also played the part of the major background score in the first theatrical theatre of the film .

The song is said to carry an essence typical of Farah Khan which makes it colourful and vibrant . The composers for this brilliance piece of art are Vishal and Shekhar who are considered to be the elite rockstars of the bollywood industry and have more often than not , produced super hit tracks for SRK and his films . The song gained great praise from the people worldwide but also criticism on the fact that the song and its title have been inappropriately fit into a movie based on theft and criminality . However the makers are proud of what they have produced and are ready to bring it out to the world come 31st . The movie is India’s first ever dance heist film and is set to be yet another blockbuster for King Khan alnd Deepika Padukone . The movie was initially set to hit the theatres on Diwali , but was then postponed to a day after the festival and will now be seen releasing on the 24th of October, 2014 .

This one of a kind dance-heist film which goes with the caption, ‘Todenge Taale- Indiawaale’ is definitely one of the most anticipated releases of the year and given the fact that this is SRK’s one and only release this year , and with such a high value star cast and crew supporting him, stakes are obviously high.

Fawad Khan says his female fan-following in India is both a blessing and a matter of concern

The Khoobsurat hero hailing from Pakistan has managed to gain a huge female fan following and he regards it as a blessing and also a matter of concern. Due to his growing popularity the promotion team is using Fawad for promotion. Disney is all set to blow the Indian audience off after joining hands with Indian actors for the first time with the movie Khoobsurat. The movie makers have simply taken an old masterpiece and added a little twist to it. Amidst all this it was noted that Disney is busy promoting Fawad more than Soonam Kapoor. The page is a pretty active page with the admin of the page posting things mostly about Fawad.

Khoobsurat Movie Reviews

Khoobsurat is an upcoming romantic comedy film featuring Soonam Kapoor and Pakistani Actor Fawad Khan. The film is directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The movie is rumored to be a remake of Disney’s super hit movie Princess Diaries. Soonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan, Kirron Kher,Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ratna Pathak and Aamir Raza Hussain are seen in trailer. The trailer also features castles, lavish living and an extremely clumsy Soonam Kapoor who finds it difficult to adjust in the royal environment.

The Poster of the movie shows Soonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan all decked up in colorful attires. Fawad Khan has managed to gain a huge female fan following. In the movie Soonam Kapoor plays the role of Dr Mili Chakravarty, a clumsy and loud physiotherapist. She giggles, stumbles and tries to look like a typical lame and lost Disney cartoon character and tries to bring out the cuteness and innocence of the 16-year-old bimbo. Fawad is playing the role of Vikram Rathore in the movie who is a prince. But even before the film’s release, Fawad has earned a huge fan following all credits to “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” which is broadcasted on Zindagi Channel. When asked about his reaction on the criticism, he said: “The people you are talking about are very few. There will be people who will criticize. They are entitled to their opinion. Even if someone from India goes to work there, someone or the other will make noise.” He also went on to say that ‘Art knows no culture or creed’. Fawad is a Pakistani singer and actor he has also received two Lux style awards and is one of the highest paid actors of Pakistan. Khan made his film debut in 2007 with Khuda Kay Liye which was the highest-grossing Pakistani film of 2007.

He debuted in 2000comedy drama Jutt and Bond. Khan was first known for being the lead singer of Pakistani rock band Entity Paradigm, but later the band split up. His songs “Shor Machaand “Rahguzar” did exceptionally well and was considered a huge commercial success. Khan started his modeling career at a very early age of thirteen. Khan walked the ramp with Mahira Khan at the India Bridal Fashion Week and at the PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week Day. Khan has been featured in a numerous commercials including, Servis Shoes, Mobilink, QMobile, TUC Biscuit and Clean & Clear Shampoo. He also owns a brand called Silk which is his collaboration with his wife. Let’s hope this movie does well for Fawad and his acting career in India.

Daawat-e-Ishq – Love, laughter and food combine to create movie magic at the cinemas.

Dawaat-e-Ishq is an Indian Romantic comedy drama that also focuses on social issues like Dowry. The movie is directed and produced by Habib Faisal and Aditya Chopra respectively under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It features Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles.

The movie is about the romantic of Gulrez “Gullu” Qadir (Parineeti Chopra) a Hyderabadi shoe-sales girl who has a disliking towards the feeling of love because of her bitter encounters with dowry-seeking men; and Tariq “Taru” Haidar (Aditya roy Kapoor) a Lucknawi cook who can charm anybody with the magical flavours of his biryani and kebabs. There is a clash portrait between the Hyderabad and Lucknow culture. A source says, “Yes the film has a message for the audience, but it does not preach. Keeping the entertainment quotient in mind, the crux of the story revolves around the issue of dowry.” The trailer features Parineeti in her all time favourite bubble avatar whereas Aditya looks very different from his previous movie Asshique2. He wears a tight fitting t-shirt and his lips are all red, after effects of chewing pan all the time and ofcourse the clash of the two families. The music of the movie has managed to gain very few fans. In summary, Daawat-e-Ishq is possibly the most disappointing soundtrack from the house of Yash Raj. The tracks suffer from a serious case of dullness, outdated-ness and mediocrity yet Kudos to the bold experimenting of two different forms of music-Qaawali and western. All the best to the Daawat-e-Ishq team and we hope the film fares better.

Last year Aditya Chopra’s Asshique2 won many awards as well as hearts. Aditya gained a lot of appraisal for his acting skills and Parineeti has also set a benchmark in the industry with her acting skill. Her movies like Ishaqzaade, Shud Desi Romance and Hasee Tho Phasee. Hope the new onscreen jodi impresses the audience and the movie does well. The plot of the movie is like any other Bollywood movie so let’s hope for the best. The movie is due for initial release on 5th September.
